Spacers

Spacers allow the medication to mix with the air in the chamber and eliminate the need for timed breathing that is required with metered dose inhalers.  When spacers are used for asthma treatment, less medication is lost out of the mouth and instead, all of the medication is taken directly into the lungs, exactly where it should be. 

Another key part of asthma treatment is measuring heart rate and oxygen levels in the blood.  Using a finger pulse oximeter makes this easy.  Before, these devices were only available at doctors' offices and hospitals, making it impossible to monitor oxygen levels at home.  But now, with the Oxi-Go Finger Pulse Oximeters, patients can monitor their heart rate and oxygen levels at home!  Any parent who has woken in the middle of the night to hear their child wheezing knows what it is like to wonder if they need to take their child to the ER or if they can wait until morning for a doctor's visit.  With a finger pulse oximeter at home, parents can now check their child's oxygen levels and immediately know if their child is in serious distress and needs immediate treatment, or if it is only superficial wheezing that can be treated with the nebulizer at home, saving them a costly hospital visit and possibly unneeded and traumatizing asthma treatments at the emergency room.
