The Blueair Classic 280i HEPASilent Air Purifier, the smallest of the Classic i series, is as efficient as it is attractive, and was designed with families in mind. This Energy Star rated Wi-Fi enabled air purifier features advanced electrostatic and mechanical filtration technology to produce stronger airflow rates using less pressure, resulting in less energy consumption and near-silent operation. Advanced Intelligence:

The Blueair Classic 280i Air Purifier features WiFi & Bluetooth capabilities allowing you to connect to your Smartphone or Amazon Alexa. The Blueair Friend Smartphone App is available in both Apple and Google Play stores and lets you control your purifier even when away from home. The 280i features integrated sensor monitoring technology that sends real-time indoor air quality data directly to your smartphone and alerts you if it detects harmful VOC and PM 2.5 particulate matter. Auto mode can be engaged on the unit or within the app, and lets you take a back seat while it monitors your indoor air and adjusts setting as necessary for you.

Electrostatic & Mechanical Filtration:

An integrated ionizer releases negatively charged ions, these negatively charged ions adhere to the smaller incoming particulates. These ionized particulates are then forcibly attracted to the positively charged filter media (material) and are trapped there. The HEPASilent™ particulate filtration media (material) is made from millions of tiny woven fibers, each a different size. These fibers are then folded into a pleated arrangement to allow for increased surface area and more efficient filtering. This HEPA material traps 99.97% of bacteria, viruses, mold, pollen, dust, dander, and allergens. Naturally sourced activated coconut carbon pellets make up an added layer that helps absorb smoke, gasses, odors, and volatile organic compounds.

HEPASilent™ Operation:

These combined filtration methods make for a less dense filter material. What this means is there isn’t as much material the air has to pass through. Because of this, it creates less airflow resistance. This decreased resistance allows the maximum amount of air to flow through the filter resulting in a more quiet and energy-efficient experience.
